St. Francis Animal Hospital New Patient Center

Welcome to St. Francis Animal Hospital. If you and your pet are new to this office, you've probably got a lot of questions for our veterinarians. You'll find the answer to most of them right here on this page. We are a full-service veterinary hospital with facilities for every type of care, from standard vaccinations to emergency surgery. Whatever reason you're coming in with your pet, you can save time and effort by printing out our standard forms and filling them out at home. With your new patient registration form or surgical information form in hand, you'll be able to see our doctor that much sooner.

Information for New Patients

We have office hours six days a week, with a half day on Saturday. We offer pet boarding 24/7 for dogs, cats, pocket pets and reptiles. If you're considering boarding your pet with us, we'll be happy to schedule a tour so you can see the facilities for yourself. We're pet owners ourselves, and always treat your pets like our own.

child and veterinarian with a dog We know you can find a huge variety of conflicting information on the internet. We've checked out numerous sites online and have a list of those that we trust. Among them are:

  • American Animal Hospital Association
  • American Veterinarian Medical Association
  • American Kennel Club
  • Agility Information
  • American Board of Veterinary Practitioners

If you've decided to board your pet with us, please check with Dr. Drake to find out the necessary vaccinations your pet should have before boarding. Some diseases, like canine kennel cough, can be passed very easily to multiple pets, so immunizing your pet is important. If your pet eats a special food please bring enough for it to eat the entire time it's with us. You may bring its own bowl if it's not breakable, and a special toy is always a comforting addition. We change our beds every day, so please limit each pet to just one toy or comfort item.

If you ever have any questions about another veterinary site online, feel free to contact us with any questions. An informed pet owner is the best type of owner, but we want you to get useful information when you're educating yourself.

What to Expect At Your First Visit

Your experience in our office will differ depending on the services you need. Our friendly staff is dedicated to treating your pet with friendliness and compassion, calmly working to make visits as least frightening as possible. When you first arrive you'll need to fill out a new patient form if you haven't brought one with you. After that, the doctor will see your pet for any number of reasons, including dental exams, annual wellness exams, regular vaccinations, surgery or obesity checkups.

Payment is expected at the time of your visit. In order to keep accounting costs low, our office doesn't bill patients. We accept cash, checks, debit cards and all major credit cards. If you're using a card, please make sure it is your card and that you've signed the back of it.

Testimonial

Dr. Drake and CarolAnn are amazing! They have been caring for my dogs for over 10 years now and I have never had one complaint. They are always so happy to see my dogs and provide them with the most compassionate care. I recommend them to any seeking an honest, caring, loving, empathizing and helpful veterinarian!
